Imprinted Bodies
Queer Short Films from the XPOSED International Queer Film Festival at the Porn Film Festival Berlin

4pm Saturday, 24th of October.
Babylon Kino Kreuzberg

Slow motion. The sun reflecting on two lovers’ faces, the magnificence of bodies moving underwater – images that imprint upon us, that leave us marked. These films show the beauty that lies within all of it – within different bodies, within the intimacy of new sexual encounters, within the strength and power of overcoming a diagnosis and the isolation it may bring. XPOSED is happy to share seven queer short films from our previous as well as upcoming festival edition.

Andrés Baron, Colombia & France, 2017, 6mins

Two ambiguous characters seated against one another, sharing an easy intimacy while enjoying the sunset. Steadily holding our gaze, the couple try to divert our attention from what turns out to be a cardboard backdrop. A syrupy soundtrack underscores the deconstruction and transformation of a classic cinema trope into a novel beauty.

Finn Paul, USA, 2018, 12mins

In this video essay, the artist as narrator, mixes up sexual discovery, community formation and desert landscapes in a collection of erotic snapshots.

Truong Minh Quý, Vietnam, 2017, 15mins

A visual exploration of an intimate homosexual body contact.

KC Cory, USA, 2019, 12mins

A dreamy portrait of photographer Shoog McDaniel, a self-described queer fat freak, whose work with fat bodies in nature transgresses reality.

Victor Lindgren, Sweden, 2013, 15mins

Mikaela has undergone gender reassignment and is now a woman. One night at a bar she meets a guy who goes home with her. In Xxx, sexual objectification becomes a ‘playing doctors’ situation, each person wanting the other to take the first step towards sex. A film about our notions of masculinity and femininity, and how we come into existence through the way others see us.

Juan De La Mar, Colombia, 2019, 18mins

Two years ago I was diagnosed with HIV +, from that moment death became my life partner and teacher. Everything turned gray and I felt that I should say goodbye to the people I love. This documentary is an act of healing to return to L-HIV-FE and to show the strength that love has beyond prejudice when you live an experience that for people is synonymous with a death sentence.

Gunvor Nelson, Sweden, 1972, 10mins

An amusing portrait of a stripper, beginning with a depiction of a professional mature stripper performing her act. After having removed her clothes, she starts to undo her body parts as well.
